Station 3, located at 1100 Marlkress Road, just off of Route 70, houses 3 specialty pieces of equipment; a 45’ Articulating Squrt, a Rescue and a Technical Rescue Support Vehicle.
Squrt 31 provides front line fire suppression along with basic life support activities within its first due local. Rescue 35 and the Technical Support Unit are responsible for all vehicle and technical rescues in Cherry Hill. These rescues may include: Confined Space, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse, High Angle Rescue and Water Rescue.
All personnel assigned to Station 3 are FEMA certified in Structural Collapse Rescue. Also, the personnel assigned to Station 3 have completed their training at outside facilities and have even adapted the Cherry Hill Fire Department’s Training Facility for their special requirements.
The personnel assigned to Station 3 not only need to be proficient in firefighting operations; they must also be proficient in all the phases of technical rescue. The hours each Firefighter devotes to the extra training required is evident every time they go out the door. |
