Tower Ladder 24 Is located in the quarters of Station #2, one of the oldest stations on West Route 70, which is one of the busiest arties through Cherry Hill. The company currently responds with a 2003 95 ‘ Aerial Scope on a Segreave chassis, placed in service November 2003. The ladder contains rescue tools for motor vehicle accidents and also has a small 250 gpm pump with 300 gallons of water.
Tower Ladder 24 is the busiest ladder in a town with 80,000 residents plus and increases to over 250,000 in the day with an average of 1400 runs per year. Station #2 is located in the older section of Cherry Hill with a mixed load of occupancies from residential sections, light commercial, industrial, several residential and office high rises and many townhouse and condo settings. It also encompasses the Cooper River a major river through its local. The company is staffed with three platoons of five members on twenty-four hour shifts with minimum manning of four.
The Tower Ladder responds in the West Battalion with Engine 22 and Engine 52 which also adds dense office hi-rises along North Kings highway, to its mixed responses. In the East Battalion it responds as the RIT on any working fires as needed.
Tower Ladder 24 provides mutual aid to neighboring Haddonfield on a Task Force 1st alarm assignment. It is also on Pennsauken, Maple Shade and the City of Camden fire department's mutual aid. |
