Engine 52 Located on Route 38 at the Church Road Circle sits Station 5 of the Cherry Hill Fire Department. Station 5 houses a 1997 Seagrave Engine, also referred to as “PIPELINE 52”. The Seagrave’s status is a 1500 GPM pump with 1500 feet of 5 inch supply line, 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch hose lines. Also, the Seagrave is an EMS Engine carrying an AED to other basic emergency medical equipment. There is a various compliment of hand tools with Hurst hydraulic extrication equipment.
Station 5 is fully staffed with three platoons twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Each platoon is staffed by one lieutenant/captain and four fire fighters.
Engine 52 roams the West Battalion and responds to all kinds of calls including emergency, non-emergency, and prevention. The West Battalion stages two Engines and one Tower Ladder. Engine 52’s response local consists of single family dwellings, mid-rise and high-rise buildings, two high schools, one middle school, one elementary school, and some private educational facilities. Places of worship, restaurants, strip stores, Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Cherry Hill Mall, along with State Highway Route 38, and NJ Transit rail lines are also among Engine 52’s first due. Engine 52 provides mutual aid in Haddonfield, Pennsauken, Maple Shade, Mount Laurel, and Camden fire departments. |
